Lance Corporal Bentley, 50 Middle East Commando, was reported missing between 25 and 28 February 1941 during operations on the occupied Greek island of Kastellorizo, later found to be a prisoner of war. He was captured on 28 February 1941.
William Walter Bentley, a Labourer from Bromley, Kent, enlisted 23 March 1933 and served in Palestine before the war.
