Kenneth Gerald Hill was employed as a Grocer's Assistant with the Co-Op in Bristol before enlisting into the Somerset Light Infantry on 24 June 1940. He then volunteered for special service. Lance Corporal Hill, No.1 Commando, was reported missing 2 December 1942 during operations in Tunisia (Operation Bizerte), later found to be a prisoner of war.
