Lance Corporal Clifford Smith, RAMC, attached 43RM Commando, was wounded on 22 September 1944 [1]. He was wounded a second time (remaining on duty) with 43RM Commando on 18 April 1945 at Lake Comacchio, Italy [2].
Awarded the Military Medal in recognition of gallant and distinguished service in the field announced in Gazettes 15 March 1945 [3].
Post war member of the Commando Association who record his final rank attained as Corporal and that he also served with 45 Commando [4].
