Aubrey John Newell, a Carpenter's apprentice from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, enlisted into the Royal Marines on 26 March 1942. Posted 5th RM Battalion June 1942. Posted 45RM Commando after its formation in August 1943. Prisoner of war 9 June 1944 at Sallenelles, Normandy.
