William James Golden, a Plumber from Chingford, Essex, enlisted 2 October 1939. Sergeant Golden was reported missing 20 April 1941 during operations at Cyrenaica, later found to be a prisoner of war. Royal Engineer attached to No.7 Commando (Layforce) for the Bardia Raid.
