William Robertson from Edinburgh enlisted on 1 August 1939, civil trade Painter. He later volunteered for the Commandos. Private Robertson, No.7 Commando attached to Layforce, was reported missing later confirmed prisoner of war 20 April 1941 during an operation at Bardia, Cyrenaica, Libya.
