Quartermaster Sergeant Hubert Bedborough died after falling into a monsoon ditch during a storm whilst deployed to Hong Kong [1] [1a].
- He had previously received a Mention in Despatches for gallant and distinguished services in Palestine during the period 27th March 1948 and 30th July 1948 [2].
