Captain Ian Laidlaw was killed in action during operations on the enemy held island of Brac, Yugoslavia. Son of Douglas and Edith Laidlaw, of Knockholt, Kent.
Second Lieutenant Ian Douglas Laidlaw was commissioned 12 August 1942 and joined 40RM Commando 25 August 1942.
October 1943 Lieutenant Laidlaw, 'Y' Troop, wounded during operations at Termoli. 
March 1944, Captain Laidlaw, 'Y' Troop, wounded again during operations at Anzio.
