Cemetery/Memorial: 
Marine John Jones was wounded (penetrating bomb wound left leg - amputation) at Sicily. It is likely he was one of the casualties when HMS Queen Emma was bombed in Augusta Harbour on 17 July 1943. He died on 18 July at 151 Light Field Ambulance, Syracuse, Sicily.

Son of Gomar and Violet Jones; husband of Mary M. Jones, of Kilmarnock, Ayrshire.
