Marine Harry Dowson was wounded (bomb wound to his upper left chest) on 17 July 1943 at Sicily. On this date HMS Queen Emma was bombed in Augusta Harbour. Marine Dowson died of his wounds the following day at 151 Field Ambulance. Son of Harry and Gertrude Dowson, of Newcastle-on-Tyne.
