Lance Corporal Leonard Munns died during operations at Normandy, France. Son of Mrs. E. J. Munns, of Leicester.
In 1939 Leonard Cyril Munns was a Probationary Police Constable residing at 83 Checketts Road, Leicester. Police Constable 291 Munns, Leicester City Police, volunteered for the Commandos in 1942 and joined the 2nd Police Intake at the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry. After his training he was posted to No.4 Commando.
