Private William Tudor was killed in action during operations at the Anzio beachhead, Italy.
Son of John J. and Emma A. Tudor, of Clive, Shropshire [1][2][3].
Previously wounded 30 December 1943 (Operation Partridge), Italy [4].
William John Tudor joined the Cheshire Constabulary 2 May 1938. In 1939 Police Constable Tudor resided at Ernest Street, Crewe. Constable Tudor, Northwich Division, volunteered for the Commandos in 1942 and in July was posted to the 2nd Police Intake at the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry. His name is amongst those recorded on the Cheshire Constabulary War Memorial Plaque at Constabulary HQ, Winsford, Cheshire.
