Volunteered for and joined No.5 Commando on its formation July 1940 at Bridlington. Served in 2 Troop. Active service included Madagascar, India, Burma, and Hong Kong (with No.1/5 Commando). Presented the No.5 Commando flag to the RM Commandos during a ceremony in Hong Kong on the disbandment of No.1/5 Commando. Post war resided Ellesmere Port, Wirral. Lieutenant in the Army Cadet Force during the 1960's. Member of the Commando Association.
