Lawrence Ernest Page, a Joiners Apprentice from Cricklewood, London, enlisted into the Royal Marines at Lympstone on 20 August 1942. Commando service commenced 1 September 1943 when posted to the newly formed 44RM Commando. Served in 'A' Troop. Active service in the Far East (India and Burma). 44RM Commando formed part of 3 Special Service (Commando) Brigade along with 42RM Commando and Nos. 1 and 5 (Army) Commandos.

05.10.1942 posted to the 20th Training Battalion RM.
17.12.1942 posted 1st RM Mobile Company, RM Division.
01.09.1943 posted 44RM Commando.
13.11.1943 embarked at Liverpool for overseas service in the Far East.
08.06.1946 posted Portsmouth Division.
05.08.1946 released Class 'A'.
