Frederick Evers joined the Metropolitan Police on 10 May 1937, warrant number 125985. In 1939 he was a Constable residing at Gilmour House, Renfrew Road, Lambeth, which was a 'Section House' for single officers. In October 1940 he married Sylvia Gladys James at Colchester, Essex. Constable Evers volunteered for the Commandos in 1942 joining the 1st Police Intake at the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry. Member of the Commando Association from Colchester, Essex.
