Francis Leslie Humphrey, a 24 year old Metropolitan Police Constable residing Gilmour House, Lambeth, volunteered for the Commandos and was posted to the 1st Police Intake at the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre) at Achnacarry. After completing his training he was attached to No.4 Commando. Served in No.4 Commando until July 1943. Posted to the Pioneer Corps before being attached to the Intelligence Corps. Later served in 4 Field Security Section. Relegated to Class W (T) Reserve 9 November 1945.
