Edward Thomas Powis was a Surrey Constabulary Police Officer who volunteered for the Commandos in 1942. He was posted to the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry, joining the 3rd Police intake. On completion of his training he was attached to No.5 Commando. Active service in the Far East.
Member of the Commando Association. In 1954 he was a Dairy, Pig, and Poultry farmer at Home Farm, Coton, Salop. Emigrated to Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). Last known residing Mutare.

15.10.1942 3rd Police Intake commenced.
15.11.1945 re-joined Surrey Constabulary.
07.01.1946 resigned from Surrey Constabulary.
