Lawrence Samuel Southall, a General Machinist from Willenhall, Staffordshire, enlisted into the Royal Marines 21 October 1941 and voluntered for the commandos the following year.
Marine Southall, 40RM Commando, was captured and a prisoner of war 10 April 1945 during operations at Lake Comacchio, Italy.
