Sam Morgan from Guisborough achieved the rare triple honour of receiving the Commando Medal, the PT Medal, and the Diamond Award for leadership at his passing out parade. He served three tours of duty with distinction in Afghanistan. Married with three children Sam left the armed forces in 2015 and had been suffering with PTSD. His funeral on 14 December 2024 was at St Nicholas Parish Church, Guisborough.
