24.02.1941 joined Liverpool City Police as PC64C. Volunteered for the Commandos in 1942.
23.07.1942 joined the 2nd Police Intake at the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry. Posted to No.4 Commando. Served in 'B' Troop*.
20.02.1946 discharged from the army and re-joined Liverpool City Police the next day.
27.04.1952 resigned from Liverpool City Police.
13.05.1952 departed Glasgow to emigrate to New Zealand, travelling with his wife. Elizabeth, and son, David, on the Captain Cook to Wellington.
1962 Member of the Commando Association residing at Titirangi, New Zealand*.
16.06.1979 Constable, New Zealand Police, awarded the Queen's Service Medal for Public Service.
1984 residing Melbourne, Australia*.
