Layforce, reported missing 2 June 1941 during operations in Crete, later found to have been captured the previous day and from then until liberation in 1945 a prisoner of war. On 30 May 1945 he listed his address as c/o Miss E. Woodbridge, 30 Bristol Avenue, Lancing, Sussex. Civil occupation Canal Labourer.
