Sgt. William Paul McGrath RM, 30 Assault Unit
Sergeant Paul McGrath, 30 Assualt Unit, a veteran of the Dieppe raid with the Royal Marine Commando, was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for gallantry, skill, determination and undaunted devotion to duty during the landing of Allied Forces on the coast of Normandy. He was amongst a small party led by two Lieutenants that took the surrender of the German radar Station at Sant Pabu in which some 600 Germans were taken prisoner.
