Ronald Banks, Commando Group
Private Ronald Banks, attached to Commando Group, was awarded the Military Medal in recognition of gallant and distinguished service at Dieppe, France. He was reported missing during the raid, later found to be a prisoner of war [1][2].
  •  3rd November 1946 commissioned Second Lieutenant [3].
  • 14 December 1953 promoted Lieutenant [4].
  • The death of Private (later Lieut.) R.D. Banks M.M., (3 Cdo.) of of Auckland, New Zealand, was announced in Commando Association newsletter 62 issued March 1976.
