Extract from the Aberdeen Evening Express
18 July 1941
"Sad Mail - With the same post that Mr and Mrs Robert Greig received a letter from their elder son Robert, they also received intimation that he had been killed on June 9. Robert was twenty four years of age, a Territorial, and a Corporal. He was a noted cyclist and a member of the Bon-Accord Cycling Club".
