Robert Paul Boyes (No.1 Cdo)
Robert Paul Boyes volunteered for the Commandos as part of the Police Intakes of 1942. 
Served with No.1 Commando, final rank Company Sergeant Major.
9 October 1939 serving Police Constable residing Welldeck Gardens, Hartlepool.
Post war rejoined the Police remaining in service for over 34 years.
1962 Staff Officer to the Chief Constable, Police HQ, Newton St., Birmingham.
1 January 1971 awarded the Q.P.M. whilst Deputy Chief Constable of Mid Anglia Police.
1972 Chief Constable of York and North East Yorkshire. 
11 June 1977 awarded the O.B.E. whilst Chief Constable of North Yorkshire Constabulary.
Member of the Commando Association.
