Roy Edward Harris 46RM Commando
Roy Edward Harris, a Theological Student, enlisted in the Royal Marines April 1942. Marine Harris, 'B' Troop, was captured and a prisoner of war 11 June 1944 during operations at Rots, France. Initially held at transit camps at Chartres and Chalons sur Marne until transported to Germany. In April 1945 Marine Harris hid in the camp along with others when the Germans attempted to move the prisoners on a march to a new location. Ordained post war.
