15.12.1943 commissioned Temporary Second Lieutenant, Royal Marines.
July 1944 joined 43 RM Commando operating at the time from the island of Vis. Later operations included Montenegro and Lake Comacchio, Italy.
1950 - 1961 Administrative Officer, Segamat, Jahore, Malayan Civil Service.
Malaysian Award -  Officer of the Order of the Defender of the Realm (K.M.N.).
01.01.1959 appointed M.B.E. (Civil Division).
