In 1939 Michael Brennan was a Police Constable, single, and residing in Stanley Road, Worcester. He volunteered for the commandos in 1942 whilst living with his wife in Alvaston, Derby. Post war he rejoined the Worcestershire Police leaving in 1952. Member of the Commando Association.

23.07.1942 enlisted General Service Corps, Posted 2nd Police Intake, Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry.

29.09.1944 permanently struck off strength No.1 Commando. Posted to the RA Depot, India.
23.02.1945 attended a Signals Cypher Course.
07.04.1945 transferred Royal Signals.
12.04.1945 posted 44 Ind. Airborne Divn. Signals.
