Cemetery/Memorial: 
Leslie Percy Hooke from West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, enlisted into the Royal Artillery on 24 January 1930. He volunteered for the Commandos during WW2 and was attached to No.6 Commando. Gunner Hooke, 3 Troop, was killed in action during operations at Normandy whilst part of a fighting patrol from 3 troop led by Lieutenant Donald Colquhoun. Whilst advancing they encountered an unfortunate short shoot by the Royal Artillery that commenced at 0100hrs and resulted in the death of Gunner Hooke and the wounding of ten others in the patrol.
