Lance Sergeant Laurence Murphy, 1 Troop, was wounded in Italy on 19 April 1945. Two months earlier in February 1945 it was announced that he had received a Mention in Despatches in recognition of gallant and distinguished service in the Field. Served in No.2 Commando from its early days.
