Louis Ledgard, a Woollen Cloth Finisher from Dewsbury, Yorkshire, enlisted Royal Marines 8 July 1941. On 23 May 1944 Marine Ledgard, now serving in 43RM Commando, was captured during operations at Miljet (Operation Foxhound).
