Joseph Henry Huckstep from Hull enlisted 2 May 1933. During the war Sergeant Huckstep served in 52 Middle East Commando which became part of 'D' Bn., of Layforce for operations in Crete. He was captured there on 1 June 1941 remaining a prisoner of war until April 1945.
