Lance Sergeant Joseph Mills was reported missing 19 August 1942 during operations at Dieppe, France, later confirmed killed in action. Son of Thomas and Helen Mills; husband of Winifred Jane Mills, of Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, England.
- He had previously taken part in the Vaagso raid where he was recommended for the Military Medal although the award was not approved.
