John Anthony Taite, a Shipping Clerk from Wrexham, enlisted into the Royal Marines on 18 February 1941. He volunteered in 1942 for the first Royal Marine Commando unit formed. Corporal Taite was captured 19 August 1942 during Operation Jubilee at Dieppe, France.
