"We would like to hear from members ex-2 Cdo Brigade who remember Pte. John Thorne of the R.E.M.E. and seemingly batman at one time to Major Battersby. John, now sadly a double amputee and almost blind, lives in the Raynes Park area of South West London and would appreciate a visit occasionally from comrades who remember him."
