Private John 'Jed' Price took part in Operation Claymore (Lofoten Islands), Operation Jubilee (Dieppe), and Operation Overlord (Normandy). Promoted Sergeant in 1944 after DDay to become the Pay Sergeant in the Administration Section of the Commando.
Post war 'Jed' , then residing in Troon, was the first Honorary Secretary of the Ayrshire Branch of the Commando Association.
