James Aspden's pre war service included India with the 2nd Bn., KOYLI. He was the recipient of the Indian General Service Medal which covered service up to 1935. During the war he was on the staff at the Commando Basic Training Centre, Achnacarry. James Aspden from Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire, was a member of the Commando Association. He died after several years in hospital.
