Private James Beech, HQ 3 Commando Brigade, died in Poona Hospital India after contracting polio. Son of Frederick William Thomas Beech and Elvina Beech, of Brighton, Sussex. [1][1a]][2].
  • 31 January 1945 wounded during operations in Burma whilst attached No.5 Commando [3].

Notes
The CWGC show him as No.1 Commando; Casualty Lists show him as HQ 3 SS Bde and earlier as No.5 Commando. Both commando units were part of 3 Special Service (Commando) Bde.
