Henry Barrow, a Labourer from Leicester, enlisted into the Royal Marines on 6 June 1941 later volunteering for the Commandos. Marine Barrow, 41RM Commando, was captured and a prisoner of war  6 June 1944 during operations at Lion-sur-Mer, Normandy
