George Pearse was a Metroplitan Police Constable in 1939, collar number 353K, serving at Barking Police Station. In 1942 he volunteered for the commandos and was posted to the 2nd Police Intake at the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry. After completing the course he was attached to No.6 Commando. Fusilier George Pearse was wounded 22 November 1942 during operations in North Africa. Subsequently discharged from military service in October 1943. In 1950 he was residing in Ilford.
