Recommendation
"Pte Horne, in the company of Pte Dale performed the Nos.1 and 2 of the 2" Mortar. They succeeded in getting their Mortar forward in a dangerous crawl into a fold in the ground close up to the Heavy Battery. After getting the range the third salvo from the 2" Mortar scored a direct hit on the cordite fuses behind the 6" gun. The whole of the ammunition went up with a roar burning many of the gun crews and completely silencing 5 of the enemy guns which never again got into action."
