Private Francis Rhodes, known as 'Snowy', was reported missing 19 August 1942 during operations at Dieppe, France, later reported killed in action. He was the batman of Captain Richard Wills, No.3 Commando, who was wounded and prisoner of war at Dieppe. Son of Francis and Grace Lilian Rhodes; pctured here with his wife Joan Eva Rhodes, of East Ham, Essex.
