Edwin Albert Roberts
In 1939 Edwin Albert Roberts from Nunney, Somerset, joined the Metropolitan Police and was posted to Islington Police Station, 277 Upper Street, London N1 [1][2].
He volunteered for the Commandos in 1942 and was selected for the 1st Police Intake to the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry [2].
26 May 1944 commissioned Second Lieutenant, Somerset Light Infantry [3].

29 April 1948 (Lieutenant) relinquishes his commission and is granted the honorary rank of Captain [4].

Notes
Commando Association Lost Legion 10 (members they had lost contact with) has a Fus. E.A. Roberts who served in No.12 Commando and No.1 Commando. However they list him being from Derby. Source at [2] simply states Special Service Brigade (Commando)
