25 August 1942 Second Lieutenant Copsey RM reported for duty with 40RM Commando at Upper Chine School, Isle of Wight. Attached to 'A' Troop promoted Lieutenant. Mentioned in Despatches for outstanding skill and determination in close engagements with the enemy, while serving in Light Coastal Craft in the Adriatic. 40RM Commando attachment ended 27 December 1944. Post war member of the Commando Association from Chichester.
