Cemetery/Memorial: 
Rifleman Charles Roberts died in Germany. At the time of his death his Commando were engaged in fighting at the River Aller crossing. He was originally buried in the Military Plot that was on the Eastern bank of the Aller near the Aller Bridge.
Charles was a serving Police Officer who had volunteered for the Commandos. In 1939 he was Police Constable 193 'B' serving at Snow Hill Police Station in the City of London. He is commemorated on the City of London Police War Memorial at Wood Street Police Station.
