Clifford Booker, a Labourer from Bristol, enlisted into the Armed Forces on 5 March 1940 later volunteering for the commandos. Embarked for the Middle East with No.7 Commando forming 'A' Battalion of Layforce. Lance Corporal Booker was wounded and a prisoner of war 1 June 1941 during operations in Crete.
