Notes
The CWGC entry for Private Martin shows a secondary unit as "Commando". He was on this websites original ROH for No 1 Commando but there was no source. No 1 Commando as a Unit were not yet out in the Far East at the time he was reported as missing. There is no trace of his name in the Westminster Abbey Commando ROH, nor is he listed in the ROH in the No1 Commando Winchester Reunion Programme in our Gallery. His Service Record should be checked for confirmation of service in a Commando. In the meantime he is listed in our Special Service Roll of Honour (Service in a Commando not fully established).
