Alec Tough joined the Metropolitan Police on 6 March 1939, later residing at the Police Section House in Crawford Place, Marleybone. He volunteered for the Commandos in 1942 and served in No.12 Commando before joining the Special Boat Section.
Post war resumed his Police Service. 1958 Detective Inspector at Harrow Road Police Station; 1963 Superintendent, later in charge of 2 Area CID (North West); 1969 Commander and Head of the Metropolitan Police Fraud Squad. Member of the Commando Association.
