Albert Blackham 46RM Commando
Marine Albert Blackham, from Birmingham, served in the Commandos from May 1944 until September 1945. He was wounded on 29 April 1945 during operations at the River Elbe.
His early service in the Corps included the 1940 Norwegian campaign (Operation Maurice), postings in 1941/2 to HMS Pyramus and Proserpine (shore establishments Orkney Islands), and from 8 October 1942 until 14 March 1944 in the 2nd RM Group MNBDO.
