Marine Wesley Clutterbuck was assaulted and killed in Rochdale whilst on leave to attend a friend's funeral.  The assailant was subsequently arrested and convicted of his manslaughter.

POYZER, Gerald Anthony

Marine Gerald Poyzer, from Bingham Nottinghamshire, died on 30 May 1962 at The Infirmary, Salisbury from injuries received whilst a passenger in a van involved in a traffic collision that occurred the previous day at Tilshead, Wiltshire.

Captain David Roberts received a Mention in Despatches in recognition of distinguished service whilst serving with 43RM Commando in the Mediterranean during the period 1st January to 31st March, 1945 [1] [2].
  • Also served at the Commando Mountain Warfare Training Centre [3][3a].

WILSON, Maurice Albert

Died in service
Marine Maurice Wilson died at Newton Abbot  Hospital, Devon, from injuries received in a road traffic collision whilst off duty. A verdict of accidental death was returned at the Inquest.
